Public sinner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A public sinner is a Catholic Christian who persists in a manifestly grave sin . The Codex Iuris Canonici provides for various restrictions to which a public sinner is subject. He may not be admitted to holy communion (c. 915), he may not be given the anointing of the sick (c. 1007) and he may be refused a church funeral service if this can cause public nuisance to the believers and if the sinner is a sinner did not show signs of repentance before death (c. 1184 § 1 No. 3).
