Ökoinstitut Südtirol
The Ökoinstitut Südtirol / Alto Adige is a non-profit association for the promotion of sustainable development and is active on a national and international level. It was founded in 1989 by Hans Glauber , among others , and has been based in Bolzano ever since . The Ökoinstitut has been headed by Andreas Pichler since 2012.
The concept of the Ökoinstitut is formulated as follows:
- “To win the economy for sustainable development - this was and still is the core idea of the Ökoinstitut Südtirol / Alto Adige. The efficient use of resources and prosperity are not a contradiction in terms, but new ways must be found to ensure respect for people, nature and the environment; a counter-model to the prevailing consumer culture is sought that is just as attractive if not more attractive than the prevailing system. The numerous activities of the Ökoinstitut aim to successively realize this ideal through awareness-raising and sensitization of the various actors as well as concrete measures. "

The Ökoinstitut Südtirol / Alto Adige supervises projects on a local as well as international level and also provides advice to public and private institutions.
