Ölandsbladet

Ölandsbladet is a newspaper published on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic Sea .

The newspaper, founded in 1867, is published three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) with a circulation of 8,600 copies in Borgholm in Swedish at a price of 12 Swedish kronor . In the north of the island, 85% of households use the Ölandsbladet.

The newspaper is owned by Tryckeri AB Öland . The editor-in-chief is Lars-Goran Fält , the editor is Kenth Jönsson .

Due to its long and continuous existence, the newspaper is an important source for Öland history. The newspaper also includes the collection of photos by the photographer Carl E. Andersson from Hulterstad and his brother Anton Andersson . The recordings, dating from 1900 to 1930, document life in eastern Öland during this period. Among the photographs there is also a picture of the Öland horse, which has since become extinct .
