Austrian Society for Musicology

The Austrian Society for Musicology is a musicological professional association with Austrian and foreign members.

It was founded in 1973. It is one of several Austrian societies in the field of music research and music historiography. In addition, it functions as a forum for institutions and personalities associated with Austrian musicology.

With around 250 members at home and abroad, it pursues the intensification of scientific research in the context of conferences and publications. Interdisciplinary approaches and the involvement of young musicologists are the primary goals of society.
