Austrian trade union youth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Austrian Union Youth (ÖGJ for short) is the youth organization of the ÖGB .

Analogous to the ÖGB, it is divided into the union youths of the seven individual sub-unions and the parliamentary groups represented, with the social democratic unionists group being the strongest. Especially with regard to the parliamentary groups, the principle "non-partisan but not apolitical" always applies.

Their committees are (sorted according to the importance of the committee):

  • Federal Youth Congress
  • Federal Youth Board
  • Federal Youth Presidium
  • Federal Youth Control

Analogous to these there are also the corresponding committees at the level of the federal states, as well as individual district groups.

The ÖGJ currently has 185,000 members.

The ÖGJ publishes the member magazine hello! out.
