The Austrian indoor hockey league for women is the top division in Austrian indoor hockey. The organization of the league is the responsibility of the Austrian Hockey Association (ÖHV). The master qualifies as an Austrian representative for the indoor hockey European Cup of the following season.
The league has been made up of eight teams since the 2014/15 season. Before that, as with the men, the regular season was played with six teams. The eight teams are divided into two groups of four named "A" and "B". One round is played, i.e. each team plays one home and one away game against the teams from their own group.
Indoor Masters
The first two from each group qualify for the "Indoor Masters". The Indoor Masters consists of a semi-finals and a final. The first from group A and the second from group B play the first semifinals. The second semifinals are played by the first from group B and the second from group A. The two winners then play for the championship title in the final. The third place will not be played out, but will be awarded to the remaining group winner if only one group winner can win the semi-finals. If this is not the case, it goes to the team that suffered less defeat in the semi-finals or the team that scored more goals in the semi-finals.
Relegation
The last two from each group play a "pre-relegation", similar to the semi-finals in the Indoor Masters. Here the third from group A play against the fourth from group B and the third from group B against the fourth from group A. The losers of the pre-relegation play against the first and second from the second class women B. The team has to play against the first place compete in the second division, which suffered the higher defeat in the pre-relegation. In the event that both games end with the same result, lot will decide. The winners of the relegation have the right to play the Bundesliga next season. The losers play in women's B.
