The Austrian Student Mission - Christians at the University (ÖSM) is an evangelical group in which students mainly from free and evangelical churches participate.

Leadership

The association is led by evangelical students from various denominations. They share the common vision "Experience God. Live faith. Change Austria." If possible, the groups are supported by a travel secretary. He coaches, trains and accompanies the students ("ÖSMler") in their respective city. If there is no travel secretary in a city, the management teams are supported by group guides (mostly former ÖSMers).

organization

The association itself is a member of the umbrella organization International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), which is a worldwide association of approximately 160 national evangelical Christian student organizations. The ÖSM is not a church and does not want to compete with churches. She encourages every employee to be an active member of a church.

Missionary activity

Every semester the local groups offer small groups for Bible studies, lectures at the university, book tables and other events such as film evenings and barbecues. There is an event almost every week. A national conference (called a "forum") is also held every year, usually in April during the Easter holidays. Lectures and seminars are held there that are intended to encourage the individual in the Christian faith. Many other activities are designed to help build friendships and make people happy and fun.
