Lorenz von Stein Institute for Administrative Sciences

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Lorenz von Stein Institute for Administrative Sciences (LSI) is a research institute for administrative sciences in Kiel that is part of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .

It was founded in 1980 as a non-university research institution of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. In 2007 the previous institute was formally dissolved. At the same time, an institute of the same name was created as a facility of the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel. The name of the institute refers to Lorenz von Stein , who studied in Kiel in the middle of the 19th century and worked as a political and legal scientist.

In addition to original scientific research, the institute also publishes its own scientific publications. The publications include a total of five publication series ("Series of publications by the Lorenz von Stein Institute for Administrative Sciences", "Working Papers", "Sources for Administrative History", "Modernization of State and Administration" and "Landesrecht Schleswig-Holstein"), in which also the standard work laws of the state of Schleswig-Holstein by Bernd Hoefer - currently in its fifth edition - appears.
