Stuttgart run
The Stuttgart-Lauf (officially STUTTGARTER ZEITUNG-LAUF from 2004 to 2011 ) is a running , inline skating and wheelchair competition that has been held annually in Stuttgart since 1994 and is usually held in June. It takes place in and around the grounds of the Mercedes-Benz Arena (until 2008: Gottlieb Daimler Stadium). The most important competition is the half marathon , in which over 7,000 runners reach the finish (2012: 7,513). With a total of over 19,000 participants on all routes, the Stuttgart Run is one of the largest fun runs in Germany.

A health symposium and a large running fair are also held there. Changing rooms are provided for the participants in the neighboring Porsche Arena .
Running and rolling tracks
half marathon
Until 2007 and again from 2012, the half marathon route led from Benzstrasse largely over the marathon route of the 1993 World Athletics Championships . First it goes to Stuttgart-Untertürkheim , then through Bad Cannstatt , further down the Neckar, past vineyards and the Max-Eyth-See into the district of Hofen . You can reach Mühlhausen via the Hofener Neckar Bridge . There is a turn. Again along the Neckar and past vineyards, the route runs up the Neckar to Münster . Over the Neckar, the runners get back to Bad Cannstatt and into the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which has been the finish line of the half marathon since 2012.
From 2008 to 2011 the half marathon ran through downtown Stuttgart, past many of Stuttgart's sights such as the New Palace and the Art Museum .
Inline skating competition
The inline skating competition was held as a half marathon up to and including 2007. Until then, its route was identical to that of the runners' half marathon. In 2008 the competition was held with a length of 17.5 km on the right side of the Neckar in the districts of Bad Cannstatt and Untertürkheim. From 2009 to 2012 inline skating competitions were only offered for children and teenagers. Just in time for the 20th anniversary of the "Stuttgart-Lauf" there will be another inline half marathon in 2013.
Running and walking competitions over 7 km
The 7 km run also starts on Benzstrasse and followed the course of the half marathon competitions to Untertürkheim until 2007 and again from 2012, but shortens the route significantly in Bad Cannstatt and turns back onto the half marathon route at 19 km. The shorter run was sometimes held with 8 or 10 km in the individual years.
