prolog

In 3968 after the divine donation, the empire of Saalandien was threatened by the dark armies of the Wischtech. The emperor sent fourteen brave heroes to defeat the enemy. Three heroes died on the way, they became the ones who did not return home. Four defected to the enemy, becoming the deceitful lances, and the remaining seven became known as the Seven Heroes.

Main storyline

In the year 3992 after the divine gift, there was unrest in the border areas because the army of the Black Swing Sword was plundering around. The young half-man Keinzell travels through the border countries to get into the empire. He faces the four deceitful lances Kfer, Güsstave, Krentel and their leader Ascheriit, who lead the Black Swing Sword Army . He exposes them as a fraud, as he himself was once known under the name Asheriit and wants to take revenge on the seven heroes who once almost killed him.

After Keinzell had left the border areas, his first destination was the town of Rielde Velem, which was built on an underground fortress that was alternately conquered by the German Empire and the Wischtech during the war. His first attempt to overcome the thousand stone lances (a gigantic wall made of lance-like rocks) by hiding in between goods fails when the young Piepsi is discovered. He tries to help her by claiming to be her stepbrother, Wid then bribed the battle monks to save both of them. Wid confronts Keinzell and witnesses Keinzell's sword skills when he killed the thirteen battle monks who were chasing them without even being hit once. Wid takes Keinzell and Piepsi to Althea, where he asks them not to ask for any more money for his additional companions. Althea agrees if Keinzell spends the night with her. Shortly afterwards, the cowardly Rashev raids Althea's bar, Keinzell defeats the troops with ease and Rashev flees. Althea leads Wid, Piepsi and Keinzell into an old tunnel, which is not used, with which they can get to the kite ships. Ape-like mutations live in the tunnel, which were created through the experiments of Wischtech. A particularly large specimen knocks a hole in the tunnel and knocks out Keinzell. Wid faces the monster, but is also defeated. Shortly before the monster eats Althea and Piepsi, it is defeated by Keinzell, as moonlight came through the hole, which regenerated it. After the death of the monster, Rashev attacks with the mercenary rank set, who has a magical sword to which an elf is tied. With this sword he is able to create shock waves that destroy everything. Since Ranksatz demands more, Pieps, Wid and Althea escape, while Keinzell is thrown into a hole by an attack. Keinzell ends up in the catacombs, where he faces Rashev and the elite guard of the fighting monks. He uses his knowledge of the old fortress to kill the elite with one of the old traps. He penetrates the sanctuary of the city's monastery where he meets the high priest and the builder of the Thousand Stone Lazen Elgnach. Keinzell has a short conversation with the petrified Elgnach, as he was one of the three lances that did not return home. He destroys the center of the magic circle and the thousand stone lances collapse. Althea, Wid and Piepsi can hijack a small kite ship and follow Keinzell, who is traveling on a kite towards the camp of the seven heroes, because at this point all seven heroes have gathered in one place.

In the encampment, members of the Order of the Seven Lances prevent him from killing Glenn. Glenn forgives Keinzell in front of the people, whereby Keinzell falls into a psychological hole and becomes depressed because he realizes the support the people give to the seven heroes. He is attacked and kidnapped by a figure dressed in black on a winged wolf. Wid saves him by ramming the kidnapper and his mount with the kite ship, which results in a crash of both parties. The kidnapper wants to kill the unconscious Keinzell, but is stopped by Piepsi. When the kidnapper wants to kill Piepsi to get to Keinzell, Keinzell rises and defends Piepsi and destroys the kidnapper's mask. Wid recognizes the kidnapper as Ato, since he is a member of the bodyguard of the Royal Family of Kscharlund and is looking for the kidnapped Princess Sharlen in the German Empire.

At the Ahadod Shado post office everyone is accommodated in tents and Wid explains that he needs Keinzell's strength, as he is the hero of the border countries . Ato replies that she wants to kill Keinzell in the name of her brother Klato, who was killed by Keinzell after Keinzell killed Güsstave. Keinzell wakes up from his faint and tells Ato that she can kill him safely. She is stopped by Wid, who argues that with her abilities she would never be able to kill him. Meanwhile, Piepsi meets young Zephy and his parents, who, like them, are half-men from the tribe of Miruel-Mirael. Althea joins them and Zephy's family offers both of them to accompany them when they leave for the land they were promised to start a village. You agree and tell the group. Three days later Ato searches unsuccessfully for the kite ship on which Sharlen is supposed to be. Zephy finds several soldiers who are holding half-human women prisoner. These soldiers then want to kill Zephy, in the meantime Keinzell has been leaving the tent for a long time and Piepsi brings him soup and tells him that she would leave in the morning. Centurion Genranpen joins them, whom Piepsi greets happily as he is supposed to escort them and the others to their new village. Wid joins them and recognizes Genranpen as the kidnapper of Princess Sharlen and confronts him. This denies everything and describes himself as a war fairy who protects the deity. Zephy reaches the group with the soldiers in tow. He tells Genranpen what he saw and he demands an explanation from the soldiers. They show him a dagger that identifies them as a member of the landgrave's army and is even longer than the dagger of Genrapen, which gives them a higher position. They demand Zephy and say that no matter what they do, Shtemwölch would put himself in front of them as a shield. Genranpen is in conflict and the soldiers begin to praise Shtemwölch. As a result, Keinzell freaks out and kills the first of them. He finds it easy and kills the other soldiers as well, except for the owner of the dagger. Commander Fargo arrives and kills the last soldier and says that this dagger was stolen from him. Wid confronts him and Fargo tells him and Ato that they can meet Sharlen at his residence on the outskirts. Zephy leads Genranpen to the captured women and the group is happy that Keizell is finally back to being the old man.

Keinzell spends the night with Althea while Wid and Ato go to Fargo's residence. There they have to find out that Fargo has set them up and they have to fight against the soldiers who had previously been killed by Keinzell and were resurrected by a parasite. Fargo himself, masked, goes to the tent to wipe out Zephy's family, as Zephy's family thwarted his plan when he saw the women. Piepsi is next to the tent when Fargo kills Zephy's parents when he falls out of the tent while Zephy sleeps. Zephy's father manages to tear off Fargo's mask and Piepsi is absolutely horrified. When Piepsi asks him what happened to the promises, he tells her that it was all a lie and that there is no village. Piepsi attacks him and is kicked in the stomach. Fargo uses a parasite living in his body to turn Zephy's dead parents into a monster to kill the sleeping Zephy. Piepsi tries to protect Zephy, who wakes up and is knocked down by the monster. When the monster tries to kill Piepsi, Keinzell repels it. Thanks to his elf ears, he heard the desperate cry of Piepsi's soul. Piepsi tells him what happened and Keinzell asks Zephy's parents for forgiveness before he attacks and kills the monster with his black swords. He turns to Fargo, who refers to Shtemwölch, whereupon Keinzell cuts off his right arm with the black swords. Keinzell thanks Fargo because he remembers what the seven heroes had done and all the pain, sadness and despair when they hacked him to pieces. Seven maggots like Fargo have a good life, while people like Piepsi suffer. Wid and Ato see that everything is out of the air as they were able to escape with the wing wolf. Wid sees the black sword for the first time. Before Keinzell can kill Fargo, the camp residents wake up to the noise and mistake Keinzell for the monster and villain because they see the Black Sword and think Fargo is a victim. Wid and Ato pick up Keinzell and flee.

During a break, Wid wants to know the connections that Keinzell mentioned in his conversation with Fargo. Keinzell feeds him and Ato off by telling them later that his goal is Schtemwölch first. In the meantime, Rosen and his companions arrive at Schtemwölch Castle to warn him about Keinzell, who is sure to target Schtemwölch at some point. Schtemwölch tells Rosen, however, that he is not afraid because the people have protected him before. When the seriously injured Fargo arrives and Schtemwölch tells everything, he immediately mobilizes all troops.

When Keinzell arrives with Ato, Wid and the wing wolf, the castle troops fail to shoot him down, which is why the huge demon weapon Drachenmaul (which was made ready for use in the fight against the Wischtech in his time by Ascheriit and Schtemwölch) is used with their thunderous sigh . Keinzell smashes the attack and smuggles their way through the cannon barrel of the dragon's mouth to a secret passage with Wid and Ato . In this secret passage they meet the shocked Genranpen, who leads them to the sanctuary where Fargo and Schtemwölch are staying. Since he usually only takes women there, the group has to disguise themselves as women. In the first room of the sanctuary they meet Fargo who Genranpen says that the women he brought to the castle were sick and that they are only helping them. Genranpen believes him and lets open the camouflage of Keinzell, Ato and Wid. Fargo then attacks Genranpen and reveals the tentacle-like parasite that replaces his right arm and says that this is actually what happens to the women. When a fight breaks out, Keinzell is able to kill Fargo with Genranpen's dagger.

In the interior of the sanctuary, Keinzell meets Schtemwölch and immediately attacks him. Ato and Wid find Sharlen, who is being investigated by cult members who serve Shtemwölch. Wid frees her and Ato wants to help Keinzell. Keinzell is superior to Schtemwölch and he realizes that Keinzell is Ascheriit and gets scared. As Schtemwölch Keinzell called Ascheriit, Wid and Ato also learn about Keinzell's identity. In the fight, Schtemwölch relies on his elite guard, which consists of willless women with elven blood and is controlled by him through a parasite. The guard can overwhelm Keinzell. Schtemwölch wants to use Keinzell as a test object to find out how he managed to get the young body and hopes to reproduce this phenomenon for himself. Keinzell then hears the silent screams of the souls of the women who make up the elite guard. These screams wake Keinzell's elven blood completely and spiral out of control. Wings grow on him and he kills the guard, the sect members and finally Shtemwölch. After Schtemwölch's death Ato and Wid bring the weakened Keinzell and Sharlen to safety while the vault collapses.

During the funeral procession for Schtemwölch and Fargo, Althea and Piepsi meet the disguised wid who buys food. This leads you to the cave, where Keinzell regenerates. Keinzell tells everyone what really happened in the death forest before twenty. That night, Wid confronts Ato when she burns the traditional black robe of vengeance . She tells him of her decision. When Keinzell travels on, Sharlen and Wid say goodbye to him as they return to Kscharlund with the winged wolf. However, Wid promises that he will eventually support Keinzell and asks him to take good care of Princess Ato. Ato, Althea and Piepsi continue to accompany him.

In the free city of Jullas Abllas, Althea, Ato and Piepsi hide in a dance bar to look for Keinzell, as he has secretly sneaked away and there are repeated reports that a half-human with a scar over one eye is the soldiers of Balester kills in the little villages around town. Keinzell is in the city and has disguised himself as a young woman with some make-up and a coat and tries to get a map of the mountains north of the city, in which Balestar's fortress is. However, Balestar issued a decree that the sale of such cards is strictly forbidden.

In the meantime, a play is being staged in the bar, which first shows the adventures of the hero of the border countries before it shows the death of Shtemwölch. Some drunken Balester soldiers get upset about it and even want to kill the actor who plays Keinzell. When Ato tries to intervene, she gets help from the young Ikfes, who dislocates a limb for the rioters. Keinzell saw everything and is glad that everything was over so quickly and that he didn't have to intervene. Ikfes is picked up on the outskirts of Rosen, as both are in Glenn's service. Balestar's commanders break the drunken soldier's regained limbs in order to attack the city for supporting the rebel.

The next day, Elsaria and her team are having lunch with the feudal lord of Jullas Abllas, who gives them permission to look for the rebel hero-murderer in town. The meeting is disrupted by Balester's war machines and Elsaria can negotiate a grace period of ten days with Vogt Valge, the commandant of the army, during which the city may not be attacked, although they have no idea that Keinzell is sitting at the table less than ten meters away from them . In the meantime, Rosen and Ikfes arrive at Schwertburg, where Glenn is currently training. Glenn tells Master Gurie about his crime, but twisted the facts so that Ascheriit, Krentel, Kfer and Güsstave allegedly allied with the Wischtech to negotiate peace and he and the six others ended the mission.

In Jullas Abllas, Elsaria's team, with the help of the diaper Suphie, manages to track down Keinzell in a warehouse. When a fight breaks out, it goes on into the night and Keinzell is equal to the four-person, experienced team even with two knives. The situation changes when Ato arrives and fights against Elsaria. As a result, Keinzell is distracted because he is worried about Ato. Ato only wants to be recognized by him and show him that she is strong. When Ato is seriously injured, Keinzell escapes with her and hides her under the dance bar with Althea and Piepsi. Balestar orders the destruction and looting of Jullas Abllas. Keinzell gets his equipment and is ready to search for the fortress alone in the mountains when Elsaria's team finds him again. You can paralyze him in a spell, the seriously injured Ato drags herself to the battlefield and can destroy one of the talismans in the spell, which free Keinzell.

When the first catapults destroy parts of the wall, Ato is injured even more severely by a collapsing wall and Keinzell brings her to safety, there he tells her that he recognizes her and accepts her as a student, when she almost dies he gives her his blood which she does regenerated. While the soldiers are looting, Elsaria tries to negotiate again, but bites granite. She has to watch helplessly as the soldiers pillage, pillage and desecrate, because because of her political position she cannot openly oppose Balester. When Elsaria sees one of the soldiers want to desecrate a woman in front of her child, her subordinates have to intervene to hold her back. Keinzell intervenes and kills the soldier. Keinzell begins to fight against the army and can kill several dozen soldiers on his own and even manages to push back the army on his own. Meanwhile, Althea mediated a dispute between the vigilante leader and the armed citizen leader, whereupon the two groups work together to push the army back.

When Keinzell begins to falter, the regenerated Ato comes to his aid and Elsaria also comes to his aid under the pretext of fighting the looters. Elsaria begins to see Keinzell as a hero. As evening falls, the tide turns when Balester arrives with his flying fortress and bombs the city. Keinzell and Ato steal dragons and attack the fortress, while Elsaria steals Glenn's new kite mother ship from the shipyard in Jullas Abllas. Keinzell can bring most of Balester's dragon troops down from the sky. The townspeople call Keinzell a hero when they see him standing with the black sword in front of the two crescent moons on the church tower. Keinzell can successfully infiltrate the fortress as more and more soldiers flee from the fortress. In the escape hangar, Keinzell meets a completely desperate Balester who, in his panic, flees into better times and kills him. After Balester's death, Rosen and Ikfes reach the fortress and Ikfes confronts Keinzell.

Both are quite equal to each other until Ikfes uses his incomplete black wings , which Keinzell has a hard time wearing. Keinzell won the fight when he used his black wings and defeated Ikfes. Ikfes suffers a slight nervous breakdown because Keinzell used the actually absolutely deadly black wings and let him live.

After Balester's death, Elsaria is under house arrest in the feudal lord's castle while the citizens hoist the coat of arms of their new hero Keinzell (four black blades in front of two sickle moons). A little lord from the mountains tries to take over the city, but is quickly expelled from Keinzell, who then destroys the coat of arms and continues with Ato, leaving Piepsi and Althea behind. Althea becomes the new leader of the armed civilians and a high-ranking soldier from Balester freed Valge. Both plan to take revenge on the city with the help of a magician who can control the Moster in the sewer system. Althea and her troop put them in the ritual and Piepsi beats the magician, who turns out to be Rashev, who somehow survived. Elsaria and her team join in when the monster attacks, but in the torchlight it turns out to be a genre pen. After defeating the remaining troops, in which Rashev, Valge and another managed to escape, Genranpen is overjoyed to see his little friend Piepsi again. He says that he survived thanks to Fargo's parasite, who jumped from dead Fargo to Genranpen in the struggle for survival, whereupon Genranpen decided to make amends for his bad deeds with his new strength. Piepsi and Genranpen travel on with Elsaria's troop, because they hope to find Keinzell again, while Althea stays in Jullas Abllas.

While Ato and Keinzell travel on and train again and again, Ikfes trains in the Schwertburg and receives from Glenn the sword made of fairy ore , which Ascheriit forged at the age of five. Glenn receives the command of the hunt for the rebellious hero killer from the emperor . Glenn has the troops stationed mainly in the lunar counties of Roggo and the burgraves of Zighiid, as these are Keinzell’s most likely travel routes. Only very late does he have soldiers posted at a secret tunnel that the fourteen heroes used at the time. Keinzell and Ato take this secret passage and get straight to Krohzen, where a smaller search team awaits them. Rebelont sends his short kite troop to join in. Ato and Keinzell can outsmart their pursuers and steal two short kites. They fly straight towards the Hunting Headquarters in Krohzen while they have a kite mother ship in tow. When they arrive at the headquarters, Keinzell crashes the kite mother ship and takes advantage of the chaos to shoot past all the troops and attack Glenn directly, whom he kills in the process.

While the Empire mourns the fallen Glenn, Ato and Keinzell make their way to Jebr, while the Order of the Seven Lances and Ikfes enter Rebelont's service to fight Keinzell. In Jebr, Keinzell and Ato notice how tense the situation is, since Glenn's death threatens to break out another civil war. They meet Kwelia Sevohlleea and her brother Ravan, who is the head of the Sevohleea clan. In her residence, Keinzell learns that Kfer's death and his branding as a traitor broke out a civil war that was violently ended by Glenn after five years. Through Kwelia, Keinzell also learns a little about the fate of Kfer's wife and child. Ravan recognizes Keinzell as Glenn's murderer, but is not angry with him because he wants to make peace with the other clans through conversation in order to avoid even more hatred and unnecessary bloodshed. He lets Keinzell and Ato stay in the guest house further north.

Elsaria and her team also arrive in Jebr and have an audience with Ravan, since she is an old friend of Kwelia. She explains to him that she will act as a mediator to move the clans to peace. She goes to the guest house and meets Keinzell in the thermal spring and confronts him. She found out from Piepsi about Keinzell's identity as Ascheriit and what really happened in Death Forest. Kwelia secretly overhears the two and is glad that Kfer was one of the real heroes. Elsaria and her team travel to the other clans, while Piepsi and Genranpen stay with Keinzell and Ato. Keinzell's team travels north because Keinzell wants to see the tombstones of the Deceitful Lances erected by Glenn. There he meets Kfer's wife and her second son. After a short conversation, Keinzell noticed countless kite ships in the sky.

Rebelont has invaded Jebr and gives the Klans an ultimatum of ten days to hand over Keinzell or his head, otherwise he will see them as co-conspirators and destroy them. After five days, Keinzell and his team flee into the forest, where they meet the king of the forest (a huge bear-like primal animal) and defeat him. But now they are trapped in the forest.

After the deadline, all clans and their members are gathered at the great gorge where Rebelont has built a fortress. Rebelont wants to start erasing when Keinzell and his team fly in on the back of the King of the Forest . Elsaria is happy and worried that Keinzell is there. He promises her that he will come back to protect the people with her, making him a hero in her eyes. When Keinzell surrenders, he has to face Ikfes again, while Rebelont reveals that Ikfes is the son of Kfer Jebnaress and thus the rightful ruler of Jebr. In a fight, Ikfes can almost repel the black wings of Keinzell, but recognizes a movement that actually does not belong to the Roggo system. Keinzell explains to Ikfes that Ascheriit's black wings are different from the normal ones, since Ascheriit also incorporated the swordsmanship of the Jebnaress into his swordsmanship. Encouraged by this, Ikfes Keinzell succeeds in defeating the Black Wings . He then wants to become Keizell's pupil, but Rebelont lets a demon weapon fire at Keinzell, causing him to fall into the ravine. Thereupon a revolt breaks out, as all clans swear to the ruling clan of the Jabnaress and see Rebelont as not worthy to rule over Jebr. Roses and the Order of the Seven Lances destroy the fort's demon weapons. Almost all of the Klansmen, however, are wiped out by the kite ship under the command of Rebelont's children.

During the Round Table of the Ten Royal Families , Rebelont gains more and more power and authority and Elsaria wants to have him convicted of his crimes, but bites granite because Rebelont has either bribed the families or has them besieged. Meanwhile, Genranpen, Ato and Piepsi are looking for Keinzell but cannot find him. Ikfes is appointed sword master and, in addition to his own territory, he also receives the sword master's coat of arms (sword on black wings).

The electors then plan to depose the emperor, thereby depriving Rebelont of power and ending his madness, as he plans to start another war with the Wischtech. When Rebelont realizes that he is about to lose his power, he has the Rajgredii fortress, where the electors gather, besieged by his son Guerod and the conqueror clan. Elsaria can keep the besiegers at bay with the help of her kite mothership (improved version of the ship she hijacked in Jullas Abllas), Piepsi, Genranpen and Ato. But when Betzegarm the besiegers made it to the wall and was even able to defeat Ato, Keinzell reappeared and destroyed the siege towers. Betzegarm surrenders when he sees Keinzell in front of him, because he recognizes him as Ascheriite and he once saved his life, whereby he swore allegiance to him. Keinzell can kill Guerod by crashing his kite ship.

Keinzell and Elsaria travel with their companions and the kite mother ship to Föllunglogahe to pick up the last elector who was stuck there. There they are ambushed by Rebelont. Keinzell manages to get to Rebelont's command ship, where he fights against him. Suddenly a huge floating fortress appears and a resurrected and rejuvenated Glenn tells Rebelont to surrender immediately and return all privileges to the emperor, otherwise there will be war. When Rebelont refuses, Glenn opens fire and the heroic war begins.

After several months, Rebelont was pushed back into his castle on the Dollbaranas plateau, where he slowly began to panic. Keinzell has already set out and is only a few days' walk away. Rebelont sends his son Rosgnar, his daughter spazu and Ikfes along with several soldiers to Glenn's flying fortress sky spear (original Gungnir for the Spear Norse god Odin) to negotiate peace. It turns out to be a trap for Rebelont, who wants the flying fortress and Glenn's entire fleet to himself. Spazu uses magic to transform the soldiers into monsters, who are quickly defeated by the commander of the Gungnir Knight Order and von Rangsatz. Rosgnar, Spazu and Ikfes are captured. In the meantime, Güllengurv and Nirgenfeld arrive at Rebelont, where Güllengurv, at Rebelont's request, brings the temple maiden of the Moon Castle with him to prophesy the future. Rebelont panics when the temple maiden tells him that no plan has been made, but that his star is being swallowed up by darkness.

Glenn gives Rebelont one last chance to surrender via the Golden Ear , whereby Rosgnar also asks his father to surrender. Rosgnar defected to Glenn. Rebelont responds by Glenn's fortress with the moon ship can bomb. Glenn attacks and some of his ships are shot down by Rebelont's son Barant's fleet. Rebelont withdraws into his subterranean office, while he imprisons Güllengurv and Nirgenfeld than they with the moon ship will flee, this takes off without them. Keinzell takes advantage of the tumult at the fortress to infiltrate it. Güllengurv and Nirgenfeld then plan to hand over Glenn Rebelont's head and took guns. In the armory they meet Keinzell, whom they quickly recognize as Ascheriit and are killed by him.

Rosgnar enters the castle with three people and goes to his father. And Keinzell is watching them. Gaieral transforms himself into a monster with the magic of Spazu in order to enable his father to escape, since a kite ship is waiting. Rebelont escapes and Gaieral manages to kill one of Glenn's men, but is then killed by the woman in Rosgnar's group, who turns out to be a spa who underwent major physical changes with Glenn's medicine that made the formerly short, fat woman a tall beauty.

Shortly before Rebelont reaches the ship, he is caught by Keinzell, who let his elven power get out of control for a moment in order to obtain wings and slide to Rebelont. Rebelont recognizes Keinzell as Ascheriit and accepts his fate before he is killed by Keinzell. Spazu sees Keinzell as his wings crumble and attacks him, Keinzell manages to get into the kite ship with the last of his strength and can take off. Glenn's rebellion against the Empire begins.

Glenn lets his knights travel through the kingdom and lets them give Gungnir drops to people with potential in order to win the goodwill of the people. Elsaria and her team are meanwhile at Leginuhdz Castle to visit Count Zoldeen, whose son Elsaria is fiancé. They inform the count that he will soon replace the emperor. Count Zoldeen tells them, however, that he has already sworn allegiance to Glenn, since he resuscitated Zoldenen's recently deceased wife and son. In fact, his wife looks like it did when they fell in love, but his son has become a monster. When Elsaria tries to leave, they are attacked by Zoldeen's son, but he can be trapped under the portcullis and set on fire. Zoldeen burns to death trying to free his son. Elsaria finds that Rebelont's actions began to crumble the trust of many nobles in the Empire, and that many ingratiate themselves with Glenn and support him in order to secure their positions and in the hope of receiving new younger bodies.

In a distant cave, Rosen and his team are looking for a comrade who spied on the area. A terrible monster is said to live in the cave. In the cave, however, Rosen only finds kite ships and notes that this is probably a dry dock for the maintenance of Barant's kite ships and that there are also some of the last Rebelon loyalists there. They can free their comrade, but are then attacked by the soldiers and Dorab (The Monster). When Ato, Piepsi and Genranpen came along, who were looking for and training in the area for Keinzell and wanted to slay the monster of the cave, the soldiers surrender and explain that mainly engineers and their families live in the cave and that they have a maximum of 30 soldiers that Dorab, despite his appearance, is a peaceful being and only serves as a deterrent. Rosen then asks where the black robed men are he is looking for and between whom there is a connection between the Seven Heroes and the Wischtech, since these Rebelont and other of the seven heroes gave the dark arts of the Wischtech. Rudrugio explains that he found the cave empty and only Dorab wandered around in it, but he rules out that Dorab has anything to do with the wiping tech.

Three knights from the Gungnir Knight Order join them, whose leader Prankfan Rosen knows. Prankfan tells Rosen that the Order of the Seven Lances is now the Gungnir Knightly Order and calls on everyone present to surrender and swear allegiance to Glenn. When everyone refuses, Geduzar attacks and kills some of the soldiers until Ato stands in his way. Prankfan then uses his new powers and lets a whip grow out of his neck with which he kills more soldiers. Even Rosen is not up to him and Geduzar pushes Ato back, who then gets help from Genranpen and Piepsi. When Prankfan wants to kill the engineers and their families, Dorab intervenes and protects the people with his body, when Prankfan then also wants to kill him, Keinzell intervenes with the black sword and can cut off Prankfan's arms and legs. Dorab had nursed Keinzell to health when his getaway ship landed in the cave through Rebelont's escape tunnel and crashed. Geduzar and the third knight leave Prankfan and go, while Prankfan is killed by the engineers with simple tools. Genranpen, Piepsi and Ato are happy that they found Keinzell and Keinzell, Rosen and Rudrugio form an alliance. They separate at the cave and Keinzell moves on with Ato, Genranpen and Piepsi, while Rosen wants to see Glenn. Glenn begins building his new capital in the border area.

In the Schwertburg, Gurie gets a visit from her former student Desdia and her student Gnodis. In a practice fight, Gnodis can easily defeat five of Gurie's best students. Desdia then offers Gurie to join Glenn with her and gives her Gungnir drops , which not only gave her and Gnodis great strength, but also gave Desdia a young body. Gurie refuses, but Desdia still leaves the remedy in case Gurie changes her mind. Desdia tries again that night and Gurie rejects youth and beauty, as she still mourns her beloved Ascheriit who was like a son to her and she hates Glenn for killing him.

Hanghial secretly drinks the Gungnir drops on the table and turns into a monster when fully conscious. He kills one of the disciples and shows Gurie how strong he is. However, the latter is ready to kill him, as he has not only succumbed to the temptation of strength, but has also sullied the sacred training halls with the blood of his brother-in-arms. Hanghial then flees and Gurie mobilizes all high-ranking students to hunt him down.

In the land of the ancestors No Zell and his team train. Ato faces the bat-like Volghomuli. The Volghomuli attack everything they discover and torture weaker opponents to the point of death in order to show their superiority. Ato can fend off some of the Volghomuli until a specimen appears high up in the pecking order. Keinzell catches the falling ato and scares away the Alpha-Volghomuli with a single look. Keinzell then explains that the land of the ancestors is only reserved for the best of the best among the students at Schwertburg, as this training is very dangerous. He did it himself when he was 14 to 16 years old. Keinzell then notices the colonies which are approaching a cave in the mountains.

Gurie finds Hanghial in a cave in the land of the ancestors. Hanghial attacks her and her companions, but then has to face Keinzell who throws him down the cliffs. Hanghial is then killed by the Volgholmuli. Desdia and Gnodis arrive on a kite and Desdia attacks Keinzell. She wants to bring Glenn the head of the hero killer . Gnodis prevents Ato from intervening and Keinzell and Desdia are equal. Gurie recognizes in no cell movements the technique of the sword castle and suspects he is a student of a graduate, since she can not remember anyone who had achieved such a level of mastery. Desdia can throw Keinzell to the ground, but Gurie intervenes by holding Desdia a sword rams the back. Desdia turns her back on Keinzell and wants to take care of Gurie when Keinzell uses the black wings and kills her. Gurie then realizes that she has Asheriit in front of her. With the last of her strength, Desdia orders the dragon to bring Gnodis to safety, as Keinzell could kill Gnodis with ease.

Gurie is overjoyed that Ascheriit is alive and has his story told in the Schwertburg. Since this is not easy to digest, she and Keinzell get drunk. In the morning Ato is woken up by the sounds of fighting and sees Keinzell and Gurie having a practice fight in the presence of the students. Keinzell loses the fight and is sniffed at by Gurie, because he does not use the sword, but lets the weight swing him around. Keinzell wants to explain this with instability of his body, but Gurie doesn't want to hear any contradictions, which Keinzell accepts with the respect of a student. Gurie declares that she will bring Keinzell to the imperial city, because she thinks huh and he should deliver the long overdue mission report to the emperor.

They leave with a kite ship and Gnodis reaches the sword castle and kills some of the students who are still present on their search for Keinzell. At the border to the imperial city they meet Elsaria in their airship at the border guard. She wants to depose the emperor, since he is no longer doing anything and Keinzell and his team accompany her together with Gurie. Elsaria blames Keinzell for the state of the emperor and Glenn's rebellion and is downright euphoric when she explains to Keinzell that he now has no choice but to go into battle with her and support her, Gurie tells Keinzell how unbelievable they are his acquaintances . Keinzell does not comment on this because he is quite embarrassed how much Elsaria wants him as an ally in battle.

In the imperial city they meet General Valzeyrl, an old friend of Elsaria's father, who is actually already retired. The general explains to them that he rose from retirement when the emperor rose. He shows them the hangars and the armories, all of which are full of kite ships and magical weapons that the emperor has brought from all parts of the empire, among these weapons there is also war equipment that the emperor personally captured from princes who defected to Glenn. The general explains that with Glenn's rebellion the emperor found his will again and that he has become the man he was at the time of the war. The general also informs the group that the emperor is currently on his way to the castles of Zaafia and Sorrngdo . Zaafia is in the hands of the Empire and Sorrngdo is in Glenn's hands. Ikfes and Egim are currently imprisoned in Sorrngdo.

Both castles have been besieging themselves for several weeks when the emperor starts invading Sorrngdo Castle with a small troop, which is currently under the command of Count Gernandix. The emperor successfully penetrates the castle and is able to destroy the newly brought large bombs and the military equipment. The emperor offers Gernandix to surrender, but he wants to kill the emperor. The emperor pursues him with his two bodyguards and can catch him. A kite ship sent by Glenn bombs Sorrngdo in the hope of killing the emperor. The cell guards free Ikfes and Egim because they refuse to join Glenn, but they don't want Ikfes to die senselessly during the siege.

Elsaria arrives at the castles with the others and their ship to assist the emperor and they destroy the enemy ship's magical weapons. When they try to shoot again to destroy the ship, they notice that Glenn's flying fortress is approaching. Glenn lets shooting at Sorrngdo and kills Gernandix in the process.

The emperor survived and Elsaria had the kite ship sent by Glenn shot at and its weapons crippled. When they bombard the emperor anyway, Elsaria has the ship destroyed with the main weapon charged to 60%. Some of the knights of the Gungnir order survive and attack the emperor. A companion of the emperor creates a barrier to protect the emperor but which is destroyed by the knight. The emperor can kill one of the knights and mortally wound the other in the short reaction time. The knight's offer that the emperor surrender and hand over the crown to Glenn, the latter laughingly refuses and kills the wounded knight. One of the knights turns into a monster and drives the emperor back. The knight is killed by Keinzell, who has come to the rescue. Keinzell is overjoyed to see the emperor again, but he is attacked by Gnodis before he can reveal himself to the emperor. The knights want to kill the emperor and even survive a lightning attack by Piepsi. When the life of the emperor was in danger, Keinzell used the black wings and killed the knights.

Elsaria lets Keinzell and the others evacuate, but her ship is boarded personally by Glenn and his companions. On the wing of the ship, Glenn immediately recognizes Keinzell as Asheriite and tells him that he cannot let a small sin in the past ruin his ambitions . Keinzell gets angry at Glenn's disdainful declaration that killing him and the others and soiling their names is nothing more than a minor sin. Glenn said he was preparing a second body when he sensed something was coming from the past. He had a symbiote of Wischtech implanted in himself, who after Glenn's death devoured his body and everything that made him up and then became a younger and stronger Glenn with the same ambitions. Glenn offers the emperor to abdicate and survive, which the emperor refuses. Thereupon he is mortally wounded by Glenn. Keinzell attacks Glenn in a rage. He is immediately repulsed by Glenn and Glenn expresses his regret. He asks Keinzell if he is no longer Glenn, who is Keinzell then, since he is obviously no longer Ascheriit. Glenn says that he can no longer compare Keinzell with the legendary Ascheriit who had unattainable abilities. He then explains that he plans to destroy the Wischtech and start a new war. Ikfes arrives and renounces Glenn and wants to protect the emperor. Together with keinzell he can fend off Glen's companion. One of Glenn's companions destroys the ship's wing, causing it to crash. To defeat Glenn, Ikfes and Keinzell perform the Black Wings simultaneously. They kill Glenn's companion, but Glenn uses his sky phantom and smashes the Black Wings. Glenn explains that he developed this technique by studying the eight basic forms to defeat the Black Wings , as he knew that either Keinzell or Ikfes could be dangerous to him. He tells Keinzell that this is just history and no longer a danger to him. He invites Keinzell to fight him if he survives the crash. Keinzell is rescued by Ato and Genranpe and the dying emperor calls for Ascheriit.

Characters

Keinzell

Keinzell ( ケ イ ン ツ ェ ル , Keintseru ) is a half-human. In the past he was known as the sword master Asheriit ( ア シ ェ リ ー ト , Asherīto ). Half dead he devoured a high elf, which resulted in his regeneration. He has long, blond hair, which he has braided into two pigtails with two knives at the end, red eyes, long pointed ears and the body of a child. There are innumerable scars on his body, which come from the attempted murder of the seven heroes. Mostly he wears armor that makes him look more muscular than he actually is. He has incredible sword fighting skills and has mastered a special technique called black wings that allows him to kill most of his opponents in one blow. His strength increases when he is under the light of the moon. Then he is also able to use his black sword . These are four huge blades that he can grow out of his right forearm. Thanks to his elven blood, he also has strong night vision, which means he has no problems at night or in dark places. When both moons of Saalandia are full, the healing powers of his elven blood are strong enough to bring him back from the brink of death and completely regrow severed limbs. If he uses all his elven power, he will grow wings. He can use these to fly short distances as well as to attack, with the wings acting like blades. In appearance, he is very similar to the high elf he devoured. This condition consumes so much strength that it shrinks to Piepsi's size and requires several days of bed rest. Through his elven blood he is able to hear the silent screams of the souls of people with elven blood if this scream is loud enough, he showed this when he heard Piepsi in Ahadod Shado and when he heard the voices of the actually brain-dead elite guard of Shtemwölch. Schtemwölch describes Keinzell as the perfect fusion of human and elf. In addition to his sword skills, Keinzell is also a talented blacksmith. He has made it his goal to track down the Seven Heroes who wanted to kill him and the other deceitful lances, since he and the other three of the deceitful lances were the real heroes and completed the mission while the seven on the edge of the Gave up Todwaldes and then ambushed them.

Keinzell can also be very caring, as he often thinks of his companions and protects them. In the border countries he exposed the deceitful lances as imitators and became known as the hero of the border countries . After killing the first of the seven heroes, he becomes known as the Rebel Heroes Killer .

Ato

Ato ( ア ト ) is the third princess of the land of Kscharlund ( ク シ ャ ー ル ン ド , Kushārundo ). She has a more boyish body and can easily be mistaken for a boy. She is a good swordsman, with her preferred weapon being a double blade. But she is also very gifted with two swords. She is also a skilled rider of wing wolves and kites. At first she is forced by Güsstave to attack Keinzell in order to save her brother Klato. She swears vengeance to Keinzell when she watches him kill her brother Klato. She forgets her revenge when she realizes that Keinzell only redeemed Klato and that Klato would not want her to be eaten up by revenge. She then joins Keinzell. She is seriously injured in the free city of Jullas Abllas and Keinzell gives her his blood and accepts her as a student. Ato's body went through some changes through the elven blood. So her black hair turned white; she got night vision; her skin became lighter and wing-like appendages grew from her wounds. Later she loses the elven power of Keinzell for the most part and her body becomes as before, the only thing that remains are a few strands of white hair in the forehead area. Before the Heroes' War , she was given a special double blade forged by Keinzell, which she could cut in the middle and use as two swords.

Piepsi

Piepsi ( ピ ー ピ , Pīpi ) is a young half-human girl from the tribe of the Miruel-Mirael and, like all half-human beings, carries elven blood. She meets Keinzell in the border town of Rielde Velem, where she tried to secretly smuggle herself into the German Empire. When she is discovered, she gets help from Keinzell and Wid. Her entire family and village were killed by the Black Wing Sword Army . Her real name is unknown, as Keinzell called her Piepsi at the first meeting and has been addressed that way by everyone since then. She has pointy ears, night vision and strong magical abilities. A fire lizard summoned by Eltzen was the size of a small cat, while the same fire lizard was the size of a full-grown Saint Bernard after Piepsi summoned it. Piepsi likes to wear normal clothes at the moment and felt visibly uncomfortable in the revealing clothes that she got from Althea's employees in Rielde Velem and in which she had to wear as a dancer.

She knows that she is physically weak and tries not to be a burden to anyone. Nevertheless, she becomes part of Keinzell's team and accompanies them. During Glenn's rebellion, she is given a tame bear as a mount.

Genranpen

Genranpen ( ゲ ラ ン ペ ン ) is a tall muscular man with a woman's heart. He used to be a centurion of Fargo and Shtemwölch. His job was to bring women with elven blood to Shtemwölch and Fargo, although he did not know what was happening to them. He regrets his actions when he learns from Keinzell what happened to the women. After Shtemwölch and Fargo die, he is believed dead because the vault in which he was staying collapsed. In Jullas Abllas it turns out that Genranpen survived because Fargo's parasite, which was bred from some of the abducted women, abandoned Fargo's dead body and attached itself to Genranpen to survive. Since then he has had four tentacles growing out of his body. He can freely control these tentacles and usually hides them under a long dark coat. Like Ato and Piepsi Keinzell, he joins in and trains often with Ato.

He pays great attention to his appearance and is ashamed of his tentacles. He sees himself more as a female being and describes himself as a war elf who protects the gods. But he is also sometimes quickly offended, this was the case when the king of the woods called him the land octopus and he found out that all of Keinzell's team except him have night vision. He called this: "Common!"

Althea

Althea ( ア ル テ ア , Arutea ) is a young woman with a very feminine body. In the border town of Rielde Velem she was the owner of an underground bar, which she used as a cover for her activities as a smuggler. She helped people to illegally cross borders when they had no other opportunity. She helped Wid to cross the border together with Keinzell and Piepsi. Since Keinzell was forced to take a different route, she and Wid and Piepsi reached a small kite ship alone. With the destruction of the thousand stone lances by Keinzell, her activity as a smuggler also ended. She wanted to build a village together with many half-men, because she helped the majority of these people to cross the border. After Keinzell killed the mutated being, which consisted of the parents of a half-human, and Fargo cut off her arm, she decided to continue accompanying Keinzell.

In Jullas Abllas she hid with Ato and Piepsi in a bar that belonged to an old friend of hers, and worked there as a waitress, while Ato and Piepsi were dancers. When Balester attacked the free city, she acted as a mediator between the armed citizens and the vigilante group, as the commanders of the two troops had been smuggled across the borders by her. After the death of Balester and the rest of the peace in the city, she became the new commander of the armed citizens and stayed in Jullas Abllas while Piepsi traveled on with Elsaria and Genranpen.

The seven heroes

The Seven Heroes ( 七 英雄 , Shichi Eiyū ) are the warriors who returned alive from the mission to close the gap in the spell that separates the empire from the Wischtech empire. He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. During the war he helped to put a gigantic captured demon weapon of the Wischtech back into operation, with which the Wischtech could be pushed back further. In 3992 after the Divine Donation, he carried out experiments with women who had elven blood in his castle with the help of a sect that revered the art of Wischtech. He was looking for a way to escape aging and even death. He had turned some of the women into mindless warriors. Others had a worse fate. He was able to defy Keinzell for a short time and even survived the Black Wings because he had improved his body with pieces of women. In Keinzell he saw the perfect fusion of human and elf. The women, the sect members and Shtemwölch himself were killed by Keinzell when his elven power got out of control. He was the first of the seven heroes to fall victim to Keinzell's blade.

Balester

Fortress Count Balester ( バ レ ス タ ー , Baresutā ) was one of the seven heroes and ruler of the fortress county Lemda ( レ ム ダ , Remuda ). He was the son of a wealthy merchant and became a soldier because he had no commercial talent. He is very jealous of Glenn because he was allowed to build a new kite mother ship in the free city of Jullas Abllas and he was not, even though the city was in his territory. He secretly had a floating fortress built and wanted to destroy Jullas Abllas. After Shtemwölch's death, he became extremely paranoid and unpredictable because he was the next target on Keinzell's route. His fortress was badly damaged by Elsaria in the new kite mothership, causing him to have a nervous breakdown. He was the second of the seven who fell victim to Keinzell's blade.

He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. As a moongrave it was sometimes his job to protect the temple maiden of the moon castle, who can predict the future. He was the fifth to be killed by Keinzell.

Nirgenfeld

Burgrave Nirgenfeld ( ニ ル ゲ ン フ ェ レ ト , Nirugenfereto ) was one of the seven heroes and ruler of the burgrave Zighiid ( ツ ィ ク ヒ ー ト , Tsikuhīto ). He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. He was the fourth to be killed by Keinzell.

Rebelont

Count Rebelont ( レ ベ ロ ン ト , Reberonto ) was one of the seven heroes and rulers of the Principality of Krohzen ( ク ロ ー ツ ェ ン , Kurōtsen ). He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. He is very proud of his short kite units and was known for his brutal manner of warfare. In addition, he was the most likely candidate to become the next emperor. He had several children, some of whom he had raised to be tyrants. He took Ikfes into his service and had him compete against Keinzell, only to almost kill Keinzell with a demon weapon. When the people of Jebr rose up against him, he had them killed by the demon weapon of his kite mother ships. He was made commander in chief of the army by bribing some members of the Round Table of the Ten Royal Families and besieging the lands of the others. He planned to start a war against the Mopping Tech. Because of his brutal methods and his downright rampage with the army, the electors planned to appoint the next emperor to deprive Rebelont of his privileges and allow peace to reign again.

Rebelont was pushed back in the heroic war of the returned Glenn in his castle in the plateau of Dollbaranas, where he completely fell into a panic. He was killed by Keinzell after all his forces were defeated and even his own children betrayed him to Glenn.

Glenn

Count Glenn ( グ レ ン , Guren ) was one of the seven heroes and rulers of the Principality of Jebr. He is the emperor's son and was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. After graduating from the military academy in the imperial city, he visited the sword castle in 3964 after the divine donation, where he improved his swordsmanship and met Ascheriit, who was then only twelve years old. He was the one who proposed the murder of the four at the time and stabbed Ascheriit's left eye out. He founded the Order of the Seven Lances , where he trained many talented people to become knights. The order also served as his personal task force. He takes the young Ikfes under his wing, makes him his slave knight and lets him train in the sword castle. Glenn is killed in the hunt for the Rebel Heroes Killer of Keinzell.

However, he later returned from the dead and was even rejuvenated. The only thing that reminds of his death is a large scar, where Keinzell had inflicted the fatal one. The so-called heroic war breaks out between him and Rebelont . After Rebelont's death, he begins a rebellion against the Empire, strengthening his troops with a medicine called Gungnir Drops , which turns them into monsters when their will is too weak. During the siege of the castles Zaafia and Sorrngdo, he smashed the simultaneously executed black wings of Keinzell and Ikfes with his newly developed sky phantom technique. He then reveals to Keinzell how he managed to return from the dead. A long time ago he had a symbiote that was artificially created by Wischtech magic implanted, which was inactive until his death. Glenn's death resulted in the symbiote taking on Glenn's body and with it his ambitions, his ideas, values etc. and his soul, after which the symbiote took on human form and thus Glenn was reborn in a younger and better body. Despite his new strength, he still has a certain fear of Asheriite.

The four deceitful lances

Beetle

Kfer ( ク フ ァ ー , Kufā ) Jabnaress was the ruler of the warrior clans of the Principality of Jebr. He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. He was a master swordsman and taught Asheriit the sword fighting style of the Jabnaress. He had never managed to get more than one draw against Asheriit. He left his then pregnant wife behind for the mission. He was a very loyal and caring person and offered Asheriit to accept him as a son after the mission. He did not hide from Ascheriit that he wanted to train Ascheriit Kfer's son and thus make him the next sword master, Ascheriit took it with humor. After he had closed the gap with Güsstave, Krentel and Ascheriit, he and the other three were killed by the seven heroes. After his death, his name was dragged through the mud by the seven heroes, which led to civil war breaking out in Jebr.

Krentel

Krentel ( ク レ ン テ ル , Kurenteru ) was a young magically gifted warrior from the border regions . He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. His preferred weapon was magic, which he wrote on paper and then used like talismans. After he had closed the gap with Güsstave, Kfer and Ascheriit, he and the other three were killed by the seven heroes. After his death, his name was dragged through the mud by the seven heroes.

Güsstave

Güsstave ( ギ ュ ス タ フ , Gyusutafu ) was a talented young warrior from the border areas who was known for her skill. She was named by the emperor as one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. After she had closed the gap with Krentel, Kfer and Ascheriit, she and the other three were killed by the seven heroes. After her death, her name was dragged through the mud by the seven heroes.

Asheriite

Asheriit ( ア シ ェ リ ー ト , Asherīto ) was a master warrior and the youngest holder of the title sword master (刃 匠ブ ラ ッ ト マ イ ス タ ー, Burattomaisutā = [sheet master] ) of history. He was appointed by the emperor to be one of the fourteen warriors who were supposed to close the gap in the spell. Its exact origin is unknown, as it was found in the forest by a blacksmith as a baby. The only thing he had from his real parents back then was a lump of fairy ore . The blacksmith could not work this ore, but at the age of five Asheriite forged a masterful pain out of the ore by imitating the movements of the blacksmith he had always observed. Shortly afterwards, Ascheriit became the personal swordsmith of the former sword master Rudift. At the age of twelve, he personally brought a sword to Rudift in the Schwertburg. There he was harassed by some noble students, who were then punished by one of the teachers. Teacher Gurie wanted to teach him the eight basic forms of sword art for self-defense. After she briefly explained the meaning of the shapes to him, he guided her almost perfectly after briefly watching the student. Barely three months later, he performed the Black Wings for the first time , which are the highest form of heavy artistry in the sword castle to save Rudift from a murderer. At the age of sixteen he already held the title of sword master and went on a mission to improve his swordsmanship. Before the start of the mission, he forged the fourteen lances from Feenz ore which the emperor made available to him. On the battlefields, it served as a great moral support for the troops. At the end of the four-year mission, which he successfully fulfilled with Kfer, Krentel and Güsstave, he was betrayed and slaughtered by the other seven. He was deeply wounded on his chest, his arms were cut off, and Glenn's left eye was gouged out. Asheriit survived this assassination attempt and devoured a high elf who lived in the dead forest, half insane with fever and pain. His body was healed and reborn. From then on he called himself Keinzell .

The sword castle

The Schwertburg is an academy in the lunar county of Roggo, whereby it is autonomous and and rather belongs to the imperial city. In the academy, students from the age of fifteen are taught the sword art of the so-called Roggo system, which consists of eight basic forms. The sword castle and the prince tower of Jebr always wrested the title sword master from each other .

Rudift

Rudift was the swordsman who held the title of swordmaster before Asheriit and who mastered the art of black wings . He was a talented swordsman and teacher who taught the sword art of the Roggo system in the sword castle. At the request of a good friend (Asheriit's foster father) of his, he visited Asheriit since he was seven. During these visits he advised him and watched his development with pleasure. He made Asheriit his personal swordsmith, as his blades surpassed those of other blacksmiths. He officially accepted Asheriite as a student when he was twelve years old and practicing for three months, practicing the Black Wings almost perfectly.

Gurie

Gurie is a skilled swordsman teacher and current director of the sword castle. She has a friendly personality and wanted to teach the twelve-year-old Ascheriit the Eight Basic Forms after she saw some of her students harass Ascheriit. After the return of the seven heroes, she mourned Ascheriit for a long time and took over the sword castle. Over the years she trained Ikfes, who was later awarded the title sword master , and gave him prestige again. She proudly says that under her leadership two sword masters emerged. When she sees Keinzell fighting her former student Desida, who has defected to Glenn, she believes he is a student of a graduate of the Schwertburg. When Keinzell uses the black wings , she recognizes him as Asheriite, since only Ikfes can use them next to him. She was overjoyed that Asheriit returned and was even able to complete the mission. Although Keinzell has not been her student for a long time, he still shows her the same respect. This respect goes so far that she can sniff at him like a student and he just accepts it. She was disappointed and angry about how Keinzell wields the sword, because she saw during the practice fight and saw that he had taken a step backwards. She had hoped to see new sword techniques when Ascheriit returned. She helped Keinzell to come to the imperial city and was there when the emperor died.

Ikfes

Ikfes ( イ ク フ ェ ス , Ikufesu ) Jabnaress is the only son of Kfer Jebnaress and the true ruler of the principality of Jebr. His mother had to hide him as her family name was dragged by the seven heroes in the dirt and branded with the stigma of treason. He was accepted by Glenn as a slave knight and was trained in the sword castle by Master Gurie. He wanted to hunt down the rebel heroic murderer in order to restore his family honor, to enable his mother and his half-brother a good life and to receive the title of sword master to restore the old glory to this title. Keinzell defeated him in Jullas Abllas whereupon Ikfes was briefly very offended because Keinzell used the black wings and he survived this technique, which was actually deadly at once. From Glenn he received the sword made of fairy ore which Asheriit forged at the age of five. After Glenn's death, he joined Rebelont to fight Keinzell again.

In Jebr he stood again in Keinzell and was able to use the black wings after Keinzell encouraged him by telling him about Kfer. He managed to defeat Keinzell and wanted to help him up to become his student, but Rebelont had Keinzell shot down with a demon weapon. After Keinzell's supposed death, he was appointed sword master. Ikfes was later captured by the resurrected Glenn and was able to flee Zaafia during the mutual siege of the castles Zaafia and Sorrngdo. He faced the arriving Glenn together with Keinzell. Glenn defeated both by using a new technique to smash the black wings, which were running simultaneously . Ikfes then joined Keinzell and Elsaria to end Glenn's rebellion, and during his regeneration learns from Keinzell what really happened on the mission. He shares a rivalry and friendship with Keinzell as they try to outdo each other.

The Order of the Seven Lances

The Order of the Seven Lances ( 七 槍 騎士 団 , Shichizō Kishidan ) is an order of knights that was established by Glenn. He is partly autonomous and partly Glenn's personal task force. Glenn later dissolves the order and brings it back to life as the Gungnir Knight Order .

Roses

Rosen ( ロ ズ ン , Rozun ) is a knight of the order and a graduate of the Sword Castle . Rosen is a skilled swordsman and is held in high regard within the order. In 3992 he traveled on orders to the Margraviate of Gombark in the border area beyond the Thousand Stone Lances in order to put down the rebellion of the Black Swing Sword Army with the help of the demon weapon from the Margrave's castle . He met Keinzell after he had killed the wrong beetle with the black sword . He believed that Keinzell was the new hero who, according to the temple maiden of the Modenburg, could be found in the border areas. When Keinzell revealed the true story of the heroes to the false Ascheriit, he overheard and then raised his sword against Keinzell himself. However, he was defeated in one fell swoop and returned to the Empire, where he reported to Glenn, but withheld from him that Keinzell is Ascheriit.

He was there when Keinzell stormed the castle of Schtemwölch and was also the one who put Elsaria and her team on Keinzell. He accompanied Ikfes when he challenged Keinzell after Balester's death and could only watch with amazement and excitement because he had never seen a fight on such a high level between two fighters from the same sword school. After Glenn's death, he joined the Order for a while in Rebelont's service. After Rebelont used the demon weapons against Keinzell, Rosen and other knights of the order destroyed these weapons to prevent Rebelont from using them against the people of Jebr. He was imprisoned with the rest of the knights and pardoned at the Round Table of the Ten Royal Families because Dragon Count Ischüden vouched for him. He leaves the order after his pardon.

Elsaria

Elsaria Rachankreb ( エ ル サ リ ア ・ ラ ハ ン ク レ ー ブ , Erusaria Rahankurēbu ) is the daughter of Elector Arksard Rachankreb and a knight of the Order of the Seven Lances, her motto is: bathe whenever you have the opportunity . As the daughter of an elector, she enjoys a high political reputation and is also very influential. She does not belong directly to Glenn's people, but rather an autonomous organization within the order with her team. She is seventeen and at the age of fifteen, together with her three companions, she put down a minor rebellion by riding the four of them into the outnumbered army and beheading the leader. She admires the seven heroes and thinks it's a shame that she couldn't fight in the war against Wischtech. At first she sees Keinzell as a direct enemy, since he killed Schtemwölch. However, when she saw how Keinzell protected the people of the free city of Jullas Abllas from the pillaging soldiers during the siege of Balester, she began to see him as a hero and disguised her support as protection of the people. She stole the new kite mother ship that Glenn had built in Jullas Abllas, kept it after Glenn's death and had it rebuilt according to her plans, so a bath was built on the bridge. This airship had a thousand times the combat strength of a normal kite ship.

Shortly before her departure from Jullas Abllas, she wanted to kill the monster in the sewer system, which turns out to be Genranpen. She then takes Piepsi and Genranpen with her on her journey and learns from Piepsi what really happened in the Death Forest and about Keinzell's true identity. She meets Keinzell in Jebr while taking a bath in a hot spring and confronts him. She just wanted to hear that he protects the people so that she can recognize him as a true hero and fight with him. Immediately before Keinzell's second fight with Ikfes, Keinzell promised her to protect the people with her. She has a strong sense of justice and wanted Rebelont and Balester both to be convicted for their actions and deeds. Their request failed because the emperor was unable to make the right decision. She supports Keinzell after he reappeared on Rebelont's orders during the siege of Rajgredii fortress by the victorious clan. When Glenn's rebellion begins, she travels to Leginuhdz Castle around Count Zoldeen to make him the new emperor. The Count had joined Glenn and Elsaria had to realize that Rebelont had damaged the nobles' trust in the empire too much.

He mainly fights with magic and also has several elemental beings, such as a diaper named Suphie and a fire lizard (he later hands the fire lizard over to Piepsi, as it can get much more power out of the lizard). He is very well-read and curious about what a researcher gives him. He has a very good memory, he even remembers the position of the two moons to each other when Elsaria had key events in her life, the moons were related to each other in the same way for the following events: Your birth, when she was a real one for the first time Sword and when she first sat on a horse. On the kite mother ship he is responsible for the main gun.

Dariste

Dariste ( ダ リ ス テ , Darisute ) is one of Elsaria's loyal subordinates and part of her team of four. He is tall and strong, and his preferred weapon is a chain with a dagger on the end. He often tries to be serious, but couldn't help but be confused when he happened to surprise Genranpen in the hot spring and he acted like a woman.

Kalkris

Kalkris ( カ ル ク リ ス , Karukurisu ) is one of Elsaria's loyal subordinates and part of her team of four. He is rather small and skinny and his preferred weapon is similar to Dariste's, but it is more like a very long spear. He often makes jokes and made the suggestion when they first met Keinzell to give him a sword, as he was only armed with two daggers at the time. Keinzell thought this idea was simply wonderful.

During this time he did nothing about Rebelont's madness and was to be replaced. When Glenn's rebellion begins, he stands up, seeing himself as Glenn's father having a duty to stop his insane son. He fought several battles to retake Bruge and personally led a small elite squad to take the Sorrngdo Fortress.

reception

The 17th volume of the manga sold over 22,000 times in Japan in the first week, the 18th volume over 17,000 times. At the Japan Expo in France in 2008, the series won the prize in the category of his own.

The German magazine Animania writes that the Manga strictly follows the conventions of Dark Fantasy and offers "uncompromising, bloody action". "Sex, abuse and rape scenes, which sometimes go seamlessly into detailed splatter and gore arias" went beyond the usual scope of the genre, only surpassed by Berserk . In narrative terms, however, the series does not come close to the genre classic. Some of the characters cavorting in a gloomy fantasy atmosphere of dark castles, battlefields and forests have a childlike look, which intensifies the brutality of the plot. But the "faces drawn almost carelessly with a few strokes" looked "occasionally sketchy and their facial expressions were quite pale". In the drastic fight scenes, the characterization previously built up often takes a back seat.
