Transition theology
The transition theology is time between the Lutheran Orthodoxy and Neology and is usually locates in the first half of the 18th century in Central Europe. This term describes the attempt to reconcile theology with the claims of reason . A kind of synthesis between theology and reason.
Representatives of transition theology
- Johann Franz Buddeus : his theology claimed to be able to enter into conversation with Wolff's philosophy .
- Johann Lorenz von Mosheim : he reduced theology to an ethic , compare also his work Morals of Holy Scripture . He also succeeds in attempting an impartial writing of church history.
- Siegmund Jakob Baumgarten : In his opinion, the Bible is the inspired basis of theology, although the author and not the individual word is inspired.
