A ferrying boat is from Weidling derived type of boat the Swiss army . The transfer boat is also used civilly by pontooners . It has a flat trunk . At the stern there is a "mirror" to which an outboard motor can be attached. The weight is 600 kg. It is approved for 13 people plus motor. 2-3 of them are driving troops. He can carry up to 1500 kilograms.

Transfer boats are mostly used as passenger transport vehicles on Swiss lakes and rivers, usually with the following equipment:

  • Equipment (without outboard motor): 3  spikes , 3  oars , 4 oar ropes, 1 seat, 1 tension rope
  • Equipment (with outboard motor): 3 spikes, 3 oars, 5 oar  ropes , 1 seat , 1 tension rope, 4 cords , 1  lifebuoy , 1 throwing line, 1 motor bag, 1 outboard motor, 1  spare propeller , 2 fuel canisters, 1 driver's seat.

The sporty use of transfer boats is decisive in the pontoon sport, which is especially known in Switzerland. Competitive and skill driving only have a two-man crew and simple equipment (equipment without an outboard motor).
