Ümit Yazıcıoğlu

Ümit Yazıcıoğlu (* 1958 in Erzurum , Turkey ) is a German-Turkish administrative and political scientist.

Life

Yazıcıoğlu completed his law studies in Berlin, followed by a postgraduate degree in administrative sciences at the University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and received a doctorate in both departments. From 1996 to 1997 he was a member of the Senate of the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. Since 2000 he has worked at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at the Free University of Berlin, where he also completed his habilitation in 2004 . Yazıcıoğlu's area of ​​expertise deals with questions relating to a possible role for Turkey within the European Union.

His main research interests are asylum law, public law, European law, international law, human rights, international relations, terrorism, fundamentalism and migration research.
