Þórir Bergsson

Þórir Bergsson (actually Þorsteinn Jónsson ; born August 23, 1885 in Hvammur, Norðurárdalur , † November 14, 1970 in Reykjavík ) was an Icelandic writer .

Þorir was the son of a pastor. From 1907 to 1914 he worked for the post office, then until 1943 at a bank. His first published stories are from 1911. He also wrote novels and short stories . With Stökkið , one of his stories was translated into English in 1982 under the title The Jump and published in an anthology.
