The PKP class Tr20 were locomotives with a tender for the freight train service of the Polish State Railways PKP.

history

Of these locomotives, 175 machines were produced in the American locomotive works Baldwin Locomotive Works , Philadelphia , after the First World War . The development concerned a locomotive for military purposes for the army.

It had a small grate. The steam pressure was 13.5 bar, and the size of the firebox indicated the need for good quality fuel. The locomotive was described as unsightly and uselessly heavy .

DR series 56.37–38

144 machines drove on the Polish State Railways PKP and were designated as DR series 56.37-38 during the Second World War .

Stationing data cannot be found in the literature. They were retired by 1974.

ČSD 437.25

Two locomotives remained with the ČSD after the Second World War and were designated as the 437.25 series. They were left in operation in the Ostrava area . They were shut down within a short time and returned to the PKP in 1950.
