The former Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD designated two-axle railcars for traffic on branch lines as the M 133.0 series .

history

This series was developed as a further development of the successful ČSD series M 130.1 in 1941 and only six copies were produced. Like the M 130.1 series, the vehicles were manufactured with mechanical transmissions. Outwardly, they are similar to the later M 131.1 . The differences are the missing left window in the front and the roof cooler.

technical features

The vehicle was powered by a six-cylinder petrol engine from Škoda , the output of which could be increased to 130 hp compared to the M 130.1. The power transmission was carried out with the same mechanical transmission of the 2nd and 3rd series of the previous design. The transmission wheels were constantly in mesh and were implemented with the help of tooth-shaped connections for power transmission by pushing.

The car body with the compartment for travelers was designed for 60 seats and had a driver's cab on both ends. The compartment was heated with the exhaust gases from the engine. The coolers were on the roof. The railcars were equipped with a manual and an indirectly acting compressed air brake system Knorr.

commitment

The vehicles were used on various ČSD local railways. Due to their engine power, they were used for service on steep routes such as from Karlovy Vary to Potůčky .

After the Second World War , the M 133.001 and M 133.003 were retired and the remaining four vehicles were stationed in Kralupy nad Vltavou . They were replaced there by the class M 131.1 railcars. The last vehicle was taken out of service in 1956. Two vehicles were sold. A vehicle was parked in Pilsen and photographed in 2011 (see web links). According to information from Pilsen railway workers, it is stored in the depot of the Pilsen Central Station.
