The ČSD series M 134.001 was a two-axle diesel multiple unit of the former Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD, which was developed and used exclusively for freight transport.

history

This former freight railcar was built in 1933 by Škoda in Pilsen . Only one copy was built. While the car body is somewhat reminiscent of that of the ČSD series M 222.0 , the engine parameters are identical to those of the ČSD series M 232.0 .

technical features

The vehicle was powered by an 8-cylinder diesel engine from Škoda , which, together with the generator flange-mounted to it, was arranged under the floor using the Bosch system . The crankshaft of the engine was supported by five plain bearings, the engine housing was in one piece. It was water cooled. The cooling elements were arranged on the car roof.

The main frame consisted of trusses. These were electrically welded and stiffened with diagonal cross members. Light-weight buffers were attached to the front sides of the frame. The frame was supported by springs on the roller-bearing axles. The front axle was the running axle, the rear the driving axle.

The wooden car body was bolted to the frame. The middle area contained the goods compartment. Entry into this compartment was via centrally arranged sliding doors on both sides. The front and rear of the car body were externally sheeted and set up as a driver's cab. The driver's cabs were separated from the central room by a small sliding door. Direct access to the respective driver's cab was via a door on the right-hand side, and in the middle of the front there was a door with a transition bridge for sidecar operation. In the front driver's cab there was a table, a seat and a box with a wall shelf for the driver, in the rear there was a toilet. The heating was done by the cooling water circuit of the internal combustion engine.

commitment

The railcar was handed over to Plzeň in 1933 and provided regular freight traffic on the route to Domažlice and Klatovy . He stayed in the company for only six years. In 1939 the vehicle was retired and scrapped.
