Črni Vrh observatory

The Črni Vrh Observatory , Slovenian Observatorij Črni Vrh , is an observatory south of the town of Idrija in the Goriška region in western Slovenia . Its geographical position is 14 ° 4 '25 "east longitude and 45 ° 56' 48" north latitude , 726  m. i. J. It is registered under the IAU code 106 .

The current observatory was built in 1985, with much of the work being done by volunteers. The observatory began in 1975 when a group of enthusiasts started a small observatory with self-made instruments. At that time, the first images of comet C / 1975 V1-A (West) were also taken there. Since then, several comets and 294 asteroids have been discovered in Črni Vrh .
