Łokieć

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Łokieć was the Polish yardstick . It was valid in addition to the mandatory Russian measurements in the Free State of Krakow and in the Kingdom of Poland , but was used in foreign trade. Since March 1, 1849, the Russian measures (Petersburg measures) have been introduced for the Kingdom of Poland by law. Nevertheless, the old Polish dimensions were still in use.

  • 1 Łokieć = 2 Stopa ( feet ) = 4 Ćwierć (quarters) or Zwierei = 24 Cal ( inches ) = 288 Linia = 576 millimeters
  • Free State of Krakow 1 Łokieć = 273 ½ Parisian lines = 616 millimeters
  • Kingdom 1 Łokieć = 255 ⅓ Parisian lines = 576 millimeters
