Ćwierć

The Ćwierć , also Cwiercec , more rarely Wiert , was a Polish volume and grain measure and was the so-called quarter.

The measure was valid in the Kingdom of Poland and in the Free State of Krakow and differed by 2 liters .

  • Krakow 1 Ćwierć = 1513 3/5 Parisian cubic inches = 30 liters
  • King Poland 1 Ćwierć = 1613 1/5 Parisian cubic inch = 32 liters

The dimensional chain was

  • 1 Ćwierć = 8 twines / twine = 31 kwarty / quart
  • 4 Ćwierci = 1 Korzec / bushel
  • 120 Ćwierci = 1 load
