Ōshiro Tatsuhiro
Ōshiro Tatsuhiro ( Japanese 大城 立 裕 ; born September 19, 1925 in Nakagusuku , Okinawa ) is a Japanese writer.
Ōshiro studied at the Toua Doubun University in Shanghai until 1945 . He worked for some time as a university professor and then as an administrative officer. From 1983 to 1986 he directed the Okinawa Prefectural Museum . For the novel Kakuteru Pātī (Cocktail Party ) he was awarded the Akutagawa Prize in 1967. In 1993 he received the Hirabayashi Taiko Literature Prize for Hi no hate kara . In 2000, the Okinawa Island Prize of Merit followed for his services to the literature of the region. His most important work is the historical novel Ryūkyū shobun .
