The first name is the Turkish form of the Arabic - Persian name Shahrazad (شهرزاد). This name in turn means free city and comes from the Persian elements شهر (shahr) for city and آزاد (azad) for free . It is the name of the fictional storyteller Scheherazade in 1001 Nights . She tells a story to her husband, the king, every night for 1001 nights in order to delay her execution.
