Şehrazat (singer)

Şehrazat (born September 3, 1952 in Ankara as Şehrazat Kemali Söylemezoğlu ) is a Turkish pop and jazz musician . She is a singer , composer , songwriter , producer , businesswoman and philanthropist . Due to the length of her surname, she usually uses the short Şehro as a stage name .

biography

Şehrazat grew up in İzmir and graduated from the International School of Choueifat in Beirut. She received an International Baccalaureate in Beirut in 1969. After her training, Şehrazat performed in clubs in İstanbul. She became aware of Arif Mardin in the late 1960s and has accompanied her career ever since. Şehrazat gained fame through joint appearances and released her first record İki Gölge in 1968 .

In addition to Turkish, she also speaks English , French and Arabic .
