The SAC Bern is a Bern section of the Swiss Alpine Club and with 6490 members (as of January 2020) one of the largest sections of the Swiss Alpine Club . It is one of the largest sports clubs in Switzerland , was founded in 1863 and is based in Bern.

Huts

The Bern section operates five SAC huts and three section-owned huts; these offer simple accommodation for alpinists, climbers, hikers, nature lovers and, increasingly, for families with children and for mountain bikers.
