history
The first Wildstrubelhütte was built in 1902 by Wilhelm Hildebrand as a Rohrbachhaus with 18 beds between the Weisshorn and Rohrbachstein ( 2900 m ) . In 1907 he built a second, more comfortable Rohrbachhaus at the current location ( 2794 m ) and in 1915 donated both buildings to the Bern section of the SAC.
The new Wildstrubelhütte was built in 1927 by the Bern SAC section 100 meters north of the Rohrbachhaus for 42 guests ( 2793 m ) and the old Rohrbachhaus from 1902 was demolished. The Bern section modernized the Rohrbachhaus in 1974/1975.
The Wildstrubelhütte and the Rohrbachhaus were taken over in 2000 by the SAC sections Kaiseregg and Wildhorn, who extended the Wildstrubelhütte with a new building in 2004/2005. In the Rohrbachhaus there is now a bouldering room, a course bar and accommodation for dogs. In 2017, a family room was set up in the Rohrbachhaus and an additional water tank was installed.
