The Wildhorn is 3248  m above sea level. M. the highest point in the Wildhorn Group in the western Bernese Alps in Switzerland . The mountain has a double peak, with the east peak on which the summit cross is located, according to current measurements, 2 m lower than the west peak. The canton border between the cantons of Valais and Bern runs over the mountain top .

On the eastern flank of the Wildhorn are the two small glaciers Glacier du Wildhorn and Glacier de Téné . The 2 km long Tungel Glacier stretches to the northeast, to which the Chilchli Glacier connects in the lower part . The mountain was first climbed in September 1843 .

At the top of the Iffig Valley , above the Iffigsee , is the Wildhornhütte of the SAC at 2303  m above sea level. M. at the north foot of the Wildhorn. From here the easiest ascent is via the Chilchli glacier and the Glacier de Téné to the summit (easy glacier tour, difficulty level L ). The climbs from the Geltenhütte , for example over the Col du Brochet ( 2759  m ) , are more difficult and lengthy . There are also some challenging climbing routes over the surrounding ridges .
