Wildhorn massif

The Wildhorn massif is a large mountain group in the western Bernese Alps . The Wildhorn massif is located on Bernese and Valais soil between the Sanetsch Pass in the west, the Rhone Valley in the south, the Rawil Pass in the east and a Gsteig - Lenk line in the north. The Rawilpass separates the massif from the Wildstrubel massif . The next larger town is Lenk in the Simmental .

The highest and eponymous peak of the Wildhorn massif is the Wildhorn ( 3248  m above sea level ), other peaks are Niesehorn ( 2780  m above sea level ), Arpelistock ( 3035  m above sea level ), Spitzhorn ( 2807  m above sea level). ), Schnidehorn ( 2937  m above sea level ) and the Sex Rouge ( 2884  m above sea level ). The group is accessed through the two SAC huts, Wildhornhütte and Geltenhütte .
