Ուու

The digraph Ու (small ու ) is the 34th letter of the Eastern Armenian alphabet . The letter represents the sound [⁠ u ⁠] and is indicated in German by the letter U transcribed. In contrast to the western Armenian alphabet, it was put in place of the letter Ւ in the course of the Armenian spelling reforms of 1922–1924 in eastern Armenian , where it is regarded as a letter.
