1st division (chess) 2001/02
The 2001/02 season was the 40th season of the 1st division, the top division of the Danish team championship in chess at the time .
The defending champion Helsinge Skakklub won all competitions and was superior Danish champion. The Skakklubben Sydkysten and Nørresundby Skakklub were promoted from the 2nd division . While SK Sydkysten reached relegation, Nørresundby finished seventh and eighth place with the Nordre Skakklub on the board and on the team . After the SK in 1934 Nykøbing withdrew his team from the 1st division, a playoff for relegation should take place between the Nordre SK and Nørresundby. Nørresundby waived, however, so that the Nordre SK remained in the 1st division. For the reported team squads, see team squad of the 1st division (chess) 2001/02 .
Game dates
The competitions were held on November 4, 17 and 18, 2001, January 13, 2002, February 3, 2002 and March 16 and 17, 2002. The second and third rounds were held centrally in Helsinge , the last two rounds in Århus , the others decentrally with the participating clubs.
