The men's first division of fistball is the highest division in Austrian fistball . In this competition, the Austrian master in men's fistball has been determined since the 1948/49 season and since the 1971/1972 season .

history

There have been eleven different Austrian champions on the field since the 1948/1949 season. Since the 1971/1972 season 9 different teams have so far managed to win the Austrian championship title in the hall.

1948-1970

In the first few seasons there was an indomitable team with the ATSV Linz-Waldegg and thus the Linzers were able to celebrate 19 championship titles in a row between 1948 and 1966 .

Until 1990

From 1972 fistball was also played indoors. The first Austrian fistball champion in the hall was ATSV Linz-Waldegg. in the following years the dominance of Linz was broken. With ATSV Linz-Waldegg, ÖTB Leopoldstadt and ASKÖ Laakirchen there were three teams that fought for the championship title in the hall and on the field in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Until 2014

Also in the 90s there was a dominant team in men's fistball with ÖTB Martin Sepp Neusiedl. Since 2000 there have been four teams in Austrian fistball: FBC ASKÖ Linz-Urfahr , TuS Raiffeisen Kremsmünster , Union Compact Freistadt and UFG Sparkasse Grieskirchen / Pötting , which regularly take turns at the top.

Current mode field

The men's Bundesliga consisted of eight teams in the 2015/16 season. The autumn championship was played in the form of a tournament on four match days. The games were played in Best of 3 mode. The mode for the tournaments is shown in the following graphic.

At the first tournament, the ranking in the seeding list is based on the result of the last championship. Points are awarded per tournament as follows: Points: 10 (1st) - 8 (2nd) - 6 (3rd) - 4 (4th) - 3 (5th) - 2 (6th) - 1 (7th) -0 (8.)
