11-13 College Street
A residential building is located at 11-13 College Street in the Scottish town of St Andrews , Council Area Fife . In 1971, the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish list of monuments in the highest monument category A.
history
The oldest fragments of the residential building were probably built around 1530. A rear annex was built around 1560. In the course of a renovation in 1970, badly damaged fragments of arched window frames were discovered.
description
The two-story, L-shaped apartment building stands on the east side of narrow College Street in the historic center of St Andrews, not far from St Salvator's Chapel and St Andrews University . On the ground floor, next to the arched entrance door, a passage leads to the rear courtyard. Four elongated windows are evenly arranged on the upper floor, while there are three on the first floor. The facades are plastered with Harl . Two curved dormers protrude from the roof .
