The 1201 Third Avenue Tower , formerly Washington Mutual Tower is the second tallest skyscraper in Seattle in the US state ( Washington ). The 235 meter high building has 55 floors. The building was the headquarters of financial firm Washington Mutual after its construction until the company moved one block to the WaMu Center in 2006. The building opened on May 15, 1988 and is the first “postmodern” high-rise in the city. The New York Times named the building one of the top three new office buildings in the country in 1988.
