19 de Abril (German April 19 ) is a town in southeast Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the area of the Rocha Department in Sector 8 northeast of the department capital Rocha . Parallé is a few kilometers to the northwest . The Arroyo Chafalote flows near 19 de Abrils .
history
On April 21, 1913, 19 de Abril was classified in the " Pueblo " category by Law No. 4,321 . The place, which was originally called Chafalote , was subsequently renamed to its current name by the same law following a resolution dated May 28, 1910. The name refers to the landing date of the thirty-three Orientals on April 19, 1825.
