history

At the request of the OKH for a successor to the 24 cm Cannon 3 , Krupp developed this gun in Essen. A single- and double-load prototype was planned. Only the two-tier design was ultimately built. This prototype was badly damaged in an air raid in 1943 and the project was abandoned. The project of using the cannon between two Tiger chassis as a load carrier was also abandoned .

The cannon weighed 65,500 kilograms on the march and could fire 160-kilogram projectiles up to 49,000 meters.
