description

The villa is a late building by the well-known architect Alexander Thomson . It was written in the 1870s, probably the early 1870s, but could also be from the years after Thomson's death in 1875. The building shows typical features of Thomson's architecture, who incorporated strong Mediterranean, especially Greek motifs into his designs. The villa is located in southwest Lenzie at the intersection of Victoria Road and Glenhead Road. The two-story building is made of amber-colored ashlar stones. It ends with a slate-covered pyramid roof with a lantern . The fireplace has Greek motifs. The west-facing entrance area is designed with Egyptian columns. There are three twin windows installed on the upper floor. The gate pillars at the entrance have a square floor plan and are decorated with blind pillars. With Warwick Croft is another listed villa Thomson is just a few hundred meters away.
