2 gegen 2 is a discussion duel broadcast on ProSieben from 1993 to 1997 on Sunday mornings, and from May 1994 late in the evening. In the talk format, two moderators and two experts faced each other on current topics from politics, business, culture and social issues. The first moderators were Thomas Vosskuhl and Klaus Wilken . Based on the old CNN telecast Crossfire .

background

In the program, the moderators sit on the outside left and right, next to a changing guest who represents the opposite opinion of the other person. It was possible, for example, for an employer representative to confront an employee representative on the subject of a four-day week or a data protection officer against a public prosecutor on the subject of eavesdropping. The moderators lead the debate, ask questions and, if necessary, cross-examine the opponents. In between, short films or street surveys liven up the discussion.

Initially, Klaus Wilken and Thomas Vosskuhl moderated , from 1995 Sven Doppke and Jörg Pilawa . Pilawa was 1996 Sat.1 to ran and did you words !? to moderate, whereupon Wolfgang Brückner took his place. Shortly after ProSieben dismissed its editor-in-chief Gerd Berger in the summer of 1997 , the program with its weak ratings was stopped.
