The 3rd Guards Spetsnaz Brigade ( Russian 3-я отдельная гвардейская Варшавско-Берлинская Краснознамённая ордена Суворова III степени бригада специального назначения (3-я огбрСпН) ) is a Russian , formerly Soviet Brigade of Spetsnaz that the military intelligence GRU is assumed.

It was formed in 1966 and was stationed as part of the group of the Soviet armed forces in Germany in the Neuthymen barracks in Fürstenberg / Havel in the German Democratic Republic . Even before the Russian troops withdrew from Germany, the 3rd Guard Special Reconnaissance Brigade was relocated to the newly built military settlement Roschtschinski in the Samara Oblast in 1991.

The 3rd Guard Special Reconnaissance Brigade has been stationed in Togliatti since 2010 .

Units of the brigade were involved in the military occupation of Crimea ahead of the referendum on the status of Crimea .
