Roschtschinski ( Russian Ро́щинский ) is an urban-type settlement in the Samara Oblast ( Russia ) with 11,920 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The settlement is located about 30 km southwest of the Samara Oblast Administrative Center and the left bank of the Volga .

Roschtschinski belongs to the Wolschski Rajons , whose administrative center is also Samara. It is the seat and only village of the municipality of the same name (gorodskoje posselenije).

history

The place was founded in 1932 under the name Chernoretschje . 1933 was there a garrison of the Red Army . Further units were added in the 1960s and 1970s. When the troops of the Group of the Soviet Armed Forces in Germany (GSSD) were withdrawn from there after the reunification of Germany, new settlements for military personnel were created in several places in Russia, including in Chernorechye, with financial support from the Federal Republic. In 1993 the village was in this context Roshchinsky (of Russian Roscha for Hain ) renamed and received the status of an urban-type settlement.
