4U 0614 + 091 is a low-mass X - ray binary star about 3000 parsec (10 000 light years) away . It is a source of X-ray bursts lasting a few seconds to a few minutes that repeat at irregular intervals, typically months to years. It consists of a so-called compact and a non-compact component. The compact component is believed to be a neutron star that accretes matter from a companion. Its nature is not clear, but there is evidence that it is a white dwarf .
