The 6th World Scout Jamboree 1947 (World Scout Meeting) took place from August 9th to 20th, 1947 in Moisson , France . Due to the war, it was the first jamboree since 1937 and was to take place in 1941. It had over 24,000 participants from 70 countries and was the first jamboree to take place in 1941 after the death of the founder of the Boy Scout movement, Robert Baden-Powell .

Unofficial topic

After the devastation of World War II , the meeting was held under the motto of the Jamboree of Peace. The meeting reflected that the scouting movement also grew during the war years.

High-ranking visitors

The French President, Vincent Auriol , visited the Jamboree on August 14, 1947 and was shown a special arena program. He visited the camp partly on foot, as well as by train, which connected the subcamps.
