The 7th World Scout Jamboree (World Scout Meeting) took place from August 3rd to August 12th 1951 in Bad Ischl (Upper Austria). Participants were 12,884 scouts from 61 nations. After 1951, no further World Scout Jamboree took place in Austria . The camp motto was Jamboree of Simplicity ("Jamboree of Simplicity").

execution

The camp was divided into seven sub-camps for the participants, which were named after the federal states of Austria. Two further sub-camps accommodated the delegation leaders and guests. 521 so-called service rovers support the implementation of the camp.

The main program items were the opening and closing of the camp, a bridge building competition for the groups of participants and two campfire evenings for participants and visitors to the camp.

Symbols

Stock symbol was a jaw drum having a scout lily comprises; 10,000 jew's harps were sold in the warehouse. The camp song "Brothers up and hear the melody" was composed and set to music by Alexej Stachowitsch .

The Austrian Post issued a special stamp with a circulation of 1,000,000 copies.

financing

The budget for the Jamboree was six million Austrian Schillings (€ 436,037). Of this, 500,000 schillings (36,336.41 €) were granted as a subsidy by the Austrian federal government and 150,000 schillings (10,900.93) by the state of Upper Austria. The camp fee per participant was 338 schillings (€ 24.56).

Reunions

In 1991 and 2001 (as part of the federal camp b.open ) a reunion of the 7th World Jamborees took place in Bad Ischl. Additional stones were placed next to the memorial stone for the jamboree.
