The 703rd Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht was a German infantry division during World War II .

The division was set up on March 22, 1945 in the Ijmuiden area in the Netherlands . The combined forces never reached division strength. The term division served more to simulate a larger unit than the actually existing unit in the area of the fortress Ijmuiden, actually fortress commander Ijmuiden .

The subordination took place under the 25th Army and at the end of the war the division members went into British captivity.

The division's commanding officer was Major General Hans Hüttner .

In addition to the camouflage designation, which was also used in the official documents, the open designations of the structure were as follows:

  • Grenadier Regiment 219 = Zandvoort section (10th ship trunk division)
  • Grenadier Regiment 495 = Katwijk section (Turkestan Infantry Battalion 787)
  • Grenadier Regiment 579 = 24th Ship Tribe Division
  • Fusilier Battalion 703 = parts of the 10th ship trunk division
