Aðalvík is a bay in the West Fjords of Iceland .
Location and settlement
The bay is located on the Hornstrandir peninsula on Ísafjarðardjúp . It is 7 km wide and extends that far into the country.
There were villages in the bay: Látrar in the east and Sæból in the west. At the beginning of the 20th century, over 200 people lived here. About 50 years later the bay was abandoned. Some houses are preserved and - but only in summer - used.
Film location
At Sæból, Friðrik Þór Friðriksson filmed the end of Stella and Geiri in the film Children of Nature - A Journey .
