Aṭban
Aṭban , also Ataban and Ateban (Numidian ṬBN), son of Jopamitih and grandson of Pilau, was probably a Numidian architect. He was in the 2nd century BC. Active in Thugga .
Aṭban, along with several other artists and craftsmen, is mentioned on a Numidian - Punic bilingual , which was found on a pillar tomb in Thugga . The bilingual also includes the stonemasons ʿAbdarisch , Zimer and Managai , their assistants Zazai , Tamôn and Warsakan , the carpenters Masidil and Ankan and the ironworkers Schafot and Papai . Zimer was the son of the Aban. At times it was assumed that he was the owner of the grave, but it is now well established that he directed the construction work on the grave as an architect.
