A-76
At around 4320 km², A-76 is currently (as of May 20, 2021) the largest known iceberg in the world. It calved in the northwest of Antarctica from the western side of the Ronne Ice Shelf into the Weddell Sea . The iceberg was discovered by the British Antarctic Survey on satellite images of the Copernicus - Sentinel-1 mission of the space agency ESA on May 19, 2021.
At the time of its discovery, the iceberg was about 170 kilometers long and 25 kilometers wide. In terms of area, it is therefore somewhat larger than the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca (3603 km²).
