A. Eric Heukeshoven

A. Eric Heukeshoven (* 1956 ) is an American composer and music teacher.

Heukeshoven studied music theory and composition at the University of Minnesota and music technology at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University . His teachers included Dominick Argento , Paul Fetler , Frank Bencriscutto , Tom Root , Erik Stokes , Kevin Dobbe, and John Paulson . He is a professor at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota , where he teaches composition, arrangement, brass instruments, organ and jazz piano and directs the jazz program.

As a composer, Heukeshoven stood out primarily with choral works as well as with arrangements and compositions for jazz ensembles. His works are performed in both the US and Europe. He received u. a. Commissioned by the La Crosse Chamber Chorale's , Saint Mary's University Chamber Singers and the Sheldon Theater Brass Band . Heukeshoven is a member of the American Composers Forum , the American Guild of Organists , the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, and the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia .
