ADAC Sauerland Mountain Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ADAC Sauerland Mountain Prize was a hill climb that was held from 1965 to 1984 near Nuttlar in the Sauerland . The motorsport race , which takes place every year in October, was the largest racing event in North Rhine-Westphalia in its time and one of the most important hill climb races in Germany.

Many well-known racing drivers started in Nuttlar, including Hans Joachim Stuck , Jochen Mass and Keke Rosberg . In cooperation with other clubs in the region, the race was organized by MSC Oberruhr eV in the ADAC in Meschede . The race was also scheduled for 1985, but approval was denied.

Since 2003 the ADAC Westphalia has been trying to re-run the legendary race. An exemption has not yet been obtained and a lawsuit has also failed.

The 1st ADAC Sauerland Historic Mountain Prize took place on October 16 and 17, 2010 . After the 2nd ADAC Sauerland Mountain Prize successfully took place on a new route between Ramsbeck and Berlar in October 2011, it will be held for the third time on August 18 and 19, 2012.
