ADAZ is the abbreviation for the Austro-Daimler artillery tractor . These were heavy trucks produced by the Austrian truck manufacturer Austro-Daimler . Extremely progressive for its time, it was equipped with 6x6 all-wheel drive . The ADAZ trucks were produced for the Austrian army from around 1934 . The manufacturer Austro-Daimler was originally a subsidiary of the German company Daimler, today Daimler-Benz , but became independent around 1905 and was owned by Austria. The Austro-Daimler company was one of the most important outfitters of the imperial Austrian army at the time when Austria was the largest country in Europe (except Russia).
