aDIS / BMS is a library system manufactured by aStec .

Manufacturer and history

The aStec company (stands for applied system technology) has 20 employees and is a cooperative with offices in Berlin and Munich . It was founded in Munich in 1977 and was commissioned at the beginning of the 1990s to add a library component to its previous documentation system. The result was the library system aDIS / BMS.

In addition to the library software, aStec also sells software for archives with aDIS / archive and with aDIS / knowledge and aDIS / portal products for general use in knowledge management.

Like all developments by aStec, aDIS / BMS is a database-based system and is based on the aDIS application platform.

aDIS / BMS is mainly used in Germany, with other customers in Switzerland.

aDIS / BMS is used in very different types of libraries , both in public and academic libraries and in government , parliamentary and special libraries .
