The AEA Explorer (sometimes referred to as the Explorer Explorer ) is a multi-purpose aircraft from the Australian manufacturer Aero Engineers Australia .

History and construction

The Explorer is a single-engine, aspirated high-wing aircraft with retractable nose wheel landing gear and a conventional tail unit. The prototype, known as the Explorer 350R , first flew on January 23, 1998 and then began a promotional tour of Australia and the United States. The Explorer is currently offered in two versions - the turboprop- powered version 500T (the first flew in 2000) and the stretched version of the 500T, the 750T for one pilot and sixteen passengers. The company plans to also offer floats for the machine in the future.

The subsidiary Explorer Aircraft was founded in Texas to market the aircraft in the US market.
